Job Duties/Scope Of Work
This position will provide software engineering support to design, develop, operate and maintain software programs at the Hanford site. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions. Responsibilities may include the support of legacy systems and the production of new systems.

MSA Software Engineer Services (SES) requires a software engineer who will provide development and support for a variety of customized applications, as well as Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) products. Support and development will include .NET and other programming languages with back-end databases developed in Structured Query Language (SQL) Server. Support also includes the operation and maintenance support for legacy systems and website applications.

The software engineer tasks will include, but is not limited to the following:
* Troubleshoot software production issues
* Design databases
* Develop using .NET technology
* Understand and follow established Software Development Process
* Assist with providing estimates
* Assist with gathering requirements from customers
* Develop technical documentation
* Communicate effectively with good written and verbal communication skills

The software engineer will work with other project software engineers, interface with project managers, and meet with customer subject matter experts as needed.

Basic Qualifications
* BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field, plus 5 years of related experience in computer application development.
* Relevant experience in a multi-platform environment, application or database development, developing projects using .NET technology and SQL.
* Experience with C# and use of .NET libraries.
* Experience in interfacing software with hardware systems.
* Ability to work in a multi-task, multi-project development environment.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to work in a team-oriented collaborative environment.
* Highly self-motivated and self-directed.
* Strong customer relationship skills.
* Ability to work during non-standard business hours.

Be a current holder of a DOE "Q" security clearance or have the ability to obtain a clearance within 24 months. Any offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a background investigation. As part of the investigation, Federal investigators will examine many aspects of the applicant's past including: financial and criminal histories, mental and emotional health, education and travel, drug and alcohol usage, personal and organizational relationships as well as other aspects of the applicant's background.

Desired Qualifications
* Minimum of 2 years' experience with Team Foundation Server and Agile Framework.
* Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in a multi-platform environment, application or database development, developing projects using .NET technology and SQL.
* Knowledge of Design Patterns, LINQ, Entity Framework, Web services and WPF.
* Experience in Microsoft Windows internals such as Windows Registry and Services.
* Familiarity with Process Control Systems.
* Familiarity with Hanford Site applications, systems and infrastructure.
