Job Duties/Scope Of Work
This position will supervise and direct the activities of high voltage electrical workers engaged in hazardous work while providing safe and reliable power to the Hanford Site. Works primarily with Lineman; acts as backup supervisor to all work crews in the absence of other craft supervisor. This position works under the general supervision of the Operations Manager, Electrical Utilities.

*Coordinates resources as necessary to meet organization and customer priorities and mission.
*Ensures that fully qualified and trained personnel are assigned to perform job tasks.
*Addresses customer and personnel complaints to achieve resolution.
*Works in the field with bargaining unit personnel to successfully manage diverse work requirements and changing priorities while maintaining continuity of safe operations.
*Establishes and implements work methods and practices.
*Inspects work in progress and on completion, including construction, maintenance and repair of overhead and underground distribution power lines, transformers, and related equipment such as power poles and underground vaults.
*Assists with troubleshooting transmission and distribution problems.
*Ensures vehicles and equipment are properly maintained per Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.
*Reviews and approves purchase order requests.
*Performs overtime and/or emergency work as required.
*Makes effective recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, and transfers.
*Works to address and resolve bargaining unit grievances and concerns; evaluates employee performance.
*Interacts with supervisors and engineers within Electrical Utilities and other organizations regarding designs and field conditions, as well as all levels of MSA and other Hanford area contractor management and customers.

Basic Qualifications
*BA/BS degree plus a minimum of 8 years experience preferably as a journeyman lineman or a substation electrician or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
*Knowledgeable in Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
*Demonstrated knowledge of training, policies, and procedures required for high voltage electrical workers to safely and successfully perform assigned tasks.
*Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Possess a valid Washington State Driver's License.

Desired Qualifications
*Previous supervisory experience with an electrical utility is desired.
*Current journeyman level status granted by the IBEW preferred, but not required.
*Familiarity with or ability to become familiar with the Automated Job Hazard Analysis (AJHA), Employee Job Task Analysis (EJTA) processes and the union's (HAMTC) Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
