At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland, Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River and the remediation of the Central Plateau. Our team is seeking a Designer Specialist to provide support in the following areas:

* Under general direction of department director or lead engineer, is responsible for the performance of design functions. Usually assigned to a major project or multiple small projects.
* Mechanical Designer to assist with the preparation of various aspects of the mechanical equipment design for the 324 Building Disposition Project, including necessary modifications to the 324 Facility.
* The candidate will provide design and drafting support for the fabrication, construction, installation, turnover, and startup. This project will require the candidate to support the 324 Facility structural modifications and the design of remotely operated equipment with tooling to remove contaminated soils beneath the 324 building. Support equipment will include a remotely operated excavator arm (REA) with associated tools, holders and mounts, transfer mechanism with hydraulic power units, manipulator arms, concrete saw, remotely operated impact device (ROID), camera and lighting system.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Prepare and update fabrication drawings.
* Assist in the preparation of design and field changes (e.g. Design Change Notices (DCNs)/Facility Modification Packages (FMPs)) to project drawings during construction.
* Perform field walk downs in preparation of as-built drawings. Note that walk downs will not occur in a radiological environment.
* Interface with design team to resolve design issues/comments on the 324 Building Disposition Project.
* Monitor installation activities to ensure compliance with the engineered design associated with equipment installations
* Assist in resolution of field installation issues concerning installation of structural components and equipment.
* Provide input to construction field changes.

Basic Qualifications
* BA/BS degree, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
* 8 years of design/drafting related experience.
* US Citizen.

Desired Qualifications
* Able to demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS software for mechanical designs, respectively.
* Have civil/structural and mechanical systems design experience.
* Previous experience and familiarity with DOE site drawing standards and preparation of drawings supporting DCNs and FMPs.
* Experience using Document Management & Control Systems (DMCS), including issuing documents.
* Electrical design experience.
* Proficiency with AutoCAD 2021 & SOLIDWORKS 2021 software.
