Job Duties/Scope Of Work
Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) is seeking a Software Solutions Architect with an emphasis on Application Development in support of the Department of Energy Hanford Site. For this position, HMIS is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and collaborative professional who will work with a team of other solution architects providing IT standards, reference architectures, proof of concepts for new solutions, and overall technical guidance for all the Hanford IT systems and application development practices. The selected individual will look at solutions from an application development point-of-view, integrating best practices into solutions, standards, and policies.

Additional duties include:
* Research tools and processes for use in an application development program that will be used in an integrated Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline to enable the automation of application deployment and testing within Azure DevOps.
* Refine DevSecOps application practices (including regular security patching, minimum-permissions accounts and policies, etc.) in compliance with federal government standards and implement, and verify them, using tools to analyze and verify compliance.
* Contribute input to team discussions, strategic planning, and goal settings
* Provide assistance to projects to ensure the application development activities aligns with the standards and architectures as defined by this group

Basic Qualifications
- BS in computer science/engineer or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8 years of application development
- Demonstrated DevSecOps Principles
- Experience hardening and maintaining secure coding practices (NIST, HIPAA or PCI experience a plus)
- Experience with application deployment automation and automated application testing
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles

Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Azure DevOps
- Experience with high scale, distributed, 24x7 systems and applications
