Job Duties/Scope Of Work
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for providing day-to-day legal services by supporting Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS) operations, litigation, administrative and court proceedings, and providing litigation support to outside counsel. Possesses ability to identify, recognize, analyze, and provide direction to resolve complex legal issues and determine legal requirements. Able to advise client in the following areas of law: Government Procurement, Subcontract Management, Employment, Labor and Unions, Information Technology and Cyber Security, Insurance, Property, and Utilities/Energy.

Other job duties include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the prompt delivery of legal services listed in job duties/scope of work.
- Representing the organization and serve as a key participant when interacting with all levels of management and staff; government contractors and subcontractors; advocacy groups and labor unions; officials representing federal, state, and local; educational institutions; and professional and trade organizations.
- Assist the organization by analyzing issues in order to advise client of legal options and the risk associated with each option.

Basic Qualifications
- Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from American Bar Association accredited Law School.
- Active license to practice law in at least one state, as well as active membership in good standing of the Bar of at least one state, with Washington State Bar membership preferred.
- 2 to 4 years in the practice of law. Prefer direct (or outside legal counsel support) experience as "in house" counsel and/or experience with a governmental entity in the legal practice areas listed in job duties/scope of work.
- Demonstrable ability to critically evaluate issues, develop methods to address those issues and recommend optimal policy solutions that take into account legal, contractual, economic, and other business impacts.
- Ability to write clearly and persuasively; organize and edit documents of varying complexity and lengths; and ensure that the client's written work product is clear, comprehensive, and well supported.
- Demonstrable knowledge of the operation of an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) program, including best practices to achieve the highest levels of confidence in organizational compliance with federal and state laws, contract responsibilities, and organizational policies.

Desired Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in Government procurement law including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and FAR Supplements.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in at least two of the other disciplines described above (i.e. Industrial/Occupational Safety, environmental, IT/Cyber, Insurance, Employment, Labor Relations, Property and/or Utilities/Energy law)
- Experience with the interpretive and rule making processes, as well as theories, principles, and policies applicable to the work of Government procurement.
- Experience working in a collaborative environment.
- Able to quickly adapt to new environments.
- Willing to share opinions while also displaying intellectual curiosity the opinions of others.
- Able to provide examples of high quality results or work product.
- Employ logic and reason to understand complex situations, to develop foresight that anticipates impending opportunities and obstacles, and to employ analytical approaches to solve problems.
- Even-tempered and diplomatic.
- Strives for accuracy when answering questions.
- Seeks self-improvement while improving the lives of others.

Compensation & Benefits
Grade 21: $138,700 - $174,900
Grade 22: $155,625 - $204,775
Grade 23: $179,013 - $235,638
